An off day today - had to take my son to the doctor to cast a broken arm!! I wasn't in the mood to watch this one drift further and further from my limit.....however, had I waited until the end of the day, I would have been fine....it hit 35.85 around the close of the day, so in terms of the strategy - we're still good......Oh well - still came out ahead this week, so I'm happy!

Loosing the Battle...

Winning the WAR?????

Ok - so I've been gone for the week - Why, you ask - because I suck, and hate to admit it, but in my never-ending quest to become a better human being, I'm gonna admit it now......I SUCK!!!! (Thank G-d there are like, 4 people that read this thing, and I'm pretty sure they already know it!)

Anyway - so last week was a bad week, I lost 70 cents on some piece of crap, I don't remember what and I don't feel like going into my account and looking....mostly because when you log in, there is this chart that screams "YOU ARE A BIG FAT LOSER AND HAVE NO BUSINESS TRADING! GO GET A REAL JOB!!!" Whatever - so suffice it to say, I lost some cash last week, got discouraged, and decided to throw in the proverbial towel. Then I thought better of it - what the hell - I might as well run the rest of my life savings into the ground...so I'M BACK MO FO! Ha!

I'm working now on an interesting pattern....gives a good pop at the open...I went back and researched it for a few months and it looks fairly consistant, so I'm gonna go with it for now, starting Monday...

So I was awakened at 7:00 by my son's father informing me that they were in an accident on the way to my house....Thank G-d everyone was fine, but it threw my whole morning off!

Anyway - by the time I got home from picking up my son, it was after 9:45, which is after I like to start trading. I woulda traded CMED (good earnings this morning) but I didn't! I felt off due to the morning's events....til tomorrow!

Well - Doesn't It Fucking Figure?????

So I'm all nervous/excited for the day...waiting for the bell..ding ding ding..and I'm already on my site where I find what I'm trading for the day and here's what I see:

Countdown to the Real Thing!

So I've been paper trading for quite a while, refining my strategy, etc, as well as occasionally jumping in for real...but the time has come for me to grow some balls! I made my last deposit yesterday and will be ready to play tomorrow! Withdrawals from now on!! (I hope!)

My strategy is fairly simple - Buy on an upswing and high volume as early as possible! Fairly simple and has been working well on paper, though I concede that paper is totally different than the real thing, although I have been fairly honest with myself, especially the past few months. Daytrading, even on paper, has been quite a humbling experience....just when I think I have to be the best daytrader on the face of the earth, the trading gods knock me down, and rightfully so! But this is what I love to do, so I have to give it a shot!

From what I can tell, my weakness is getting out of a trade that isn't going my way....I always want to wait one more minute, hell, even the whole day, and just in case, overnight, even though I know that's cardinal rule #1 of what NOT to do! I will try to fix this! Though I think I'm fairly good at spoting a good buy for my purposes, and getting in and out.

Anyway, if there is ever anyone who actually reads this blog, feel free to comment, suggest, ask questions, or call me a dumbass when its warranted - and I'm sure it will be many times! But mostly....wish me luck!!!
