Closing Trades: Sld DKS @ 60.61 (open) BC OPLK @ 12.96 BC AEO @ 23.33 (WTF????)
Daytrades: Positive earnings guidance for ADI LMIA BYI TECD LMIA and TECD didn't work, the others did.....also my stupid pattern observations - is it just me or does the one that I list first always work?? I'll have to check that!
Yup - I caved this morning before the market even opened! I didn't like the way the market was shaping up with the credit woes turning global. CSCO's such a major component and I didn't want to risk it. Personally I'm making money this week, and I'd like to keep it that way!
Sld CSCO @ 31.40
Strap in and enjoy the ride today, all ye longs.......I'm going to work on my tan!
Daytrades:Positive earnings guidance for PSPT CREE PLNR CSCO GB AVT All were fine for the strategy.
Opening Trades: The market was quite volatile at the end of the day (surprise, surprise) and I also was on the phone with a friend and not concentrating 100% on my trades (I'm not complaining! Just saying! IHVSFFU!!). So I did: Buy CSCO @ 31.73 (3:59) However, the following trades were on my list: Buy AVT SS KND
Closing Trades: BC VCI @ 11.78 9:36 Sld HW @ 16.49 at the open Sld LBY ????? - ok in my own defense - I have no idea what happened with this one!! I didn't really trade it, and because of that didn't look at it that closely...the average volume on it is very low and I should not have recommended it. Mea culpa!
Daytrades: Positive Earnings Guidance for IRM TUP TRMB All would have been fine
Opening Trades at the Close: Buy IRM @ 28.24 3:58 SS JNY @ 21.83 3:59
**Warning on JNY - they are apparently selling off part of their business - the news came out late in the trading day and I missed it. Lesson learned...hopefully it won't be an expensive one!
So my son and my SO have been nurturing a sunflower plant for quite a few months. They planted it during a little presentation at the Brooklyn Children's Museum and when it got big enough they planted outside. It got really tall and the flower was just about to open, when it was felled by our evil 7 year old neighbor! This is my Homage to the Sunflower!
I've all but abandoned the daytrading for now to concentrate on the swing trades. Here's how it works:
I noticed that stocks that report worse than expected earnings AND have a price drop that day, seem to signal the start of a price downtrend. Therefore, at the close of the day that a stock reports worse than expected earnings AND the stock dropped, I short, and look for at least $0.50. Im also willing to wait for it a few days.
