The New York University men’s track and field team kicked off their indoor season today at the Fordham University Invitational.
The squad was lead by junior Bernier Lauredan, Jr., who won the 1000 meters in a time of 2:31.24.
Freshman Dan Bravato had an impressive collegiate debut, taking eighth place in the shot put with a distance of 11.19.
Other notable performances by the Violets included junior Robert Joynt, who placed third in his heat of the 3000 meter (8:53.62), and senior Spenser Popeson, who also took third in his heat of the 1000 meter (2:33.94).
“Overall it was a good, low-key meet,” said head coach Nick McDonough. “Bernier had a good start, coming back from being abroad and this served as a good warm-up for the remainder of the season.”
Official results will be available shortly.
